SAAVA is a recognizable active participant in government. The organization works towards simplifying the understanding of major public policy issues and how it impacts our communities. In addition, the organization helps to influence public policy through education, advocacy and activism.
We Believe in
We envision a democracy where every citizen utilizes their rights, knowledge and confidence in order to participate and voice their needs and desires. We believe in the power of South Asian-Americans to promote towards the establishment of a true democracy in practice.
We are all equal at the ballot box, but only if we vote. We encourage millions of voters every year ensuring members have the information they need in order to participate in elections that determine our future and the future of our children.
Immigration policies should promote reunification of immediate families; meet economic, business and employment needs; and be responsive to those facing political persecution or humanitarian crises.
